Company
A lifecycle company that happens to be very good at disposition
Most ITAD providers grew out of recycling. We grew out of enterprise deployment — which is why our process starts from an asset record rather than a scrap bin, and why the evidence we hand back holds up.
Who we are
Founded in 2009. Still privately held, still running our own floor.
WesternTechSystems is an IT asset lifecycle company based in Lewisville, Texas. We buy, configure and deploy enterprise technology; we support it while it is in service; and we recover, sanitize, test, remarket and responsibly retire it when it comes out.
All of that happens in one 70,000 sq ft building that we operate ourselves, under R2v3 and RIOS certification.
That single-site model is not a boast about size. It is the reason our chain of custody has fewer handoffs than a brokered program, the reason a compliance officer can walk the floor on two days' notice, and the reason a discrepancy between a manifest and a receipt gets found in our building rather than absorbed somewhere downstream.
How we got here
From virtualizing telecom hardware to retiring it
- 2009
Founded in enterprise mobility
WesternTechSystems began as an enterprise mobility provider, then went on to help telecom operators move off closed, proprietary hardware and onto standard enterprise equipment — an early Network Function Virtualization practice.
- 2015
ExportTek established
A dedicated remanufacturing and refurbishment operation was spun off as ExportTek, Inc. It is the same company and the same building; the two names reflect two halves of one lifecycle.
- 2018
Inc. 5000 recognition
Ranked 16th in the Computer Hardware category of the Inc. 5000, on three-year growth of 180%.
- Today
Lewisville, Texas
One 70,000 sq ft secured facility handles intake, sanitization, testing, repair, remarketing and downstream disposition, with a second operation in London, Ontario serving Canadian clients.
How we work
Four things we are deliberate about
We own the building
Your assets are processed in our facility by our staff. We are not a broker arranging capacity somewhere else, and there is no second address in the chain of custody that you have not seen.
Evidence is the product
Anyone can move a pallet. What an enterprise actually buys from a disposition provider is a defensible record — serialized, per-device, and able to survive an audit two years after the truck left.
We state scope precisely
Certifications are issued with a scope, and a provider certified for one activity is not thereby certified for another. We publish what our certificates actually cover, and we say plainly what we do not hold.
One provider across the lifecycle
Procurement, deployment, support, refresh and disposition are usually split across vendors who each disclaim the handoff. We do the whole span, which is why nothing falls into the gap between contracts.
